Welcome_______________________
The Edinburgh Inter-Faith Association Youth Network (EIFA Net) aims to bring together young adults from a wide variety of backgrounds, providing an opportunity for them to share and learn from one another's religious and cultural heritage. EIFA Net is a new initiative and is still in its early stages of development. Hopefully the next year will see EIFA Net establish itself as an important tool for young adults of all faiths and none, providing a means of communication between young people from Edinburgh's many faith communities. EIFA Net is already working with a number of organisations in Edinburgh such as the Festival of Spirituality and Peace, Hope into Homes, and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. | |
_______________Regular meetings
| EIFA Net holds monthly meetings at the Cornerstone Cafe below St John's Church, Princes Street. These meetings are a chance to spend a couple of hours catching up and sharing information. If we are working on a certain project we may meet more regularly. The Cornerstone Cafe is a beautiful space where we can show films, host debates and lectures, or simply relax and unwind. If anyone has any ideas about events they would like to host, please bring your thoughts to one of our monthly meetings. |
So far this year__________________
This year, EIFA Net worked in partnership with the Festival of Spirituality and Peace to deliver a volunteer programme for young people across Edinburgh. A total of twenty-five people aged between 16 and 60 took part in a really memorable three weeks of events and performances. As part of the experience, volunteers took part in a number of trips and workshops, all based around the theme of the Festival: "Be the Change: Wellbeing of People and Planet." Volunteers went out of town with the Green Team and explored the Scottish Coastline, as well as helping design and paint a huge mural outside St John's Church. The Mural was a comment on the inequalities found throughoout Edinburgh and it attracted a lot of attention from everyone who passed by. |
